Daniel listened to the wind rustle through the trees and the sounds of screaming kids, echoing through the playground. The sun was shining. It was a perfect day in Manhattan.

Well, almost perfect. It was missing one element though. _Betty._

He watched his six year old daughter, Danielle take off towards the swings. "Push me, please." Daniel walked toward the swing set, watching his daughter climb into the seat. "You are so slow, Daddy."

"Daddy is getting old." He replied, even though he had only just turned 45. To Danielle, he was ancient in comparison to her 35 year old mother.

"Are you as old as the dinosaur we saw at the museum last weekend?" She asked, as he gave her a push.

"Not quite that old, Princess." He chuckled.

As he approached the swing, he felt his heart tug a bit. The little girl was the spitting image of her mother at that age. Her cheeks, her eyes, even the little glasses she wore. He could also sense that braces were going to be in his daughter's future too. It didn't matter though because she was the most beautiful little girl that he had ever seen. He still recalled the day she was born and he showed her off proudly to anyone and everyone.

Betty would often say that Danielle was the apple of Daniel's eye. And that would be very accurate. She was their only child- just the right combination of the Meade and Suarez families.

"Daddy, when is mommy coming home?" Danielle asked him for the tenth time today.

"Soon," Daniel pushed his daughter on the swing, just a tad bit higher.

"How soon?" Her dark pigtails flew through the air, the higher she swung. "I miss her."

"She misses you too," said Daniel.

"Do you miss her?" The little girl asked. "Higher, Daddy. I want to go higher." Daniel pushed swing just a bit higher. Not too high though, as the protective part of him took over.

"Of course, I miss her," Daniel gave her another push.

"Then, why didn't we go with her?" Danielle asked curiously.

"You have school and I have to work," said Daniel.

"You aren't at work right now and school is over," Danielle told him. "We could go see mommy now."

She added. "How far is London?"

"Too far to go tonight, sweetie" said Daniel. "You have school in the morning."

"And you have to go to work?" Danielle asked.

"Yes, I do" said Daniel. "Your mom will be home tomorrow."

"Are we going to do what we always do when mommy gets home?" Danielle asked, as he swung her higher.

"Yes. Pizza….Karaoke….and a walk on the Brooklyn Bridge"

"Yeah," Danielle cheered loudly. "I love when mommy comes home." Her giggle seemed to echo through the trees.

"Me too." He chuckled.
